One sheet Spicy Pork chops with Oyster Sauce
Isn’t just beautiful this pan full of goodies? Juicy pork chops in oyster sauce, surrounded by potatoes and sweet baby carrots. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
This dish is highly influenced by the Chinese restaurant close to my house. It is my version of take away food from the commodity of my oven.
Another great advantage of this meal is that you will only use ONE sheet pan. Therefore cleaning after cooking will be a piece of cake.
This recipe has it all:
It is a complete lunch or dinner where you have your protein, carbs and the veggies.
The key of cooking on one sheet pan is to understand the cooking time of your ingredients. The potatoes first and the pork chops and pepper at last. This way you can guarantee that everything will be in the perfect cooking point in the end.
- 2 big potatoes roughly chopped
- 6 baby carrots
- ½ sliced pepper
- 4 pork chops
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- black pepper
- 3 tbsp oyster sauce
- 1 chili sliced
- 1 tsp sesame oil
Preheat the oven to 220ºC (428ºF).
In an oven sheet pan covered in aluminum foil add the olive oil and the potatoes with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Take the sheet pan to the oven for 10 minutes. (note 1)
Now add the baby carrots and take it to the oven for another 10 minutes.
In the meantime, prepare the sauce mixing all the ingredients.
Take the sheet out of the oven and place the pork chops in the center. With a brush cover both sides of the pork with the sauce. Add the sliced pepper and take it to the oven in broil mode for 10 minutes. (note 2)
Turn around the pork chops and add more sauce with the brush. Take to the oven in broil mode for another 10 minutes. After that, the pork chops will be ready to serve.
- I like to use paper foil because it eases the cleaning process. Who wants to spend a lot of time cleaning a dirty sheet pan?
- The broil mode will help to glaze the sauce. Don’t worry about the meat to be under cooked because pork meat cooks really quickly.
