Pesto Sauce from Scratch

  • 1 tbsp ground walnuts
  • 1 cup basil leaves washed
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • ¼ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  1. Crush the basil leaves until a paste is formed. (note 1)
  2. Add the parmesan (note 2), the walnut, the garlic and the oil. Mix well.
Recipe Notes
  1. Preferably use a mortar, but in case you don't have one you can use a sharp knife and cut energetically until the paste is formed.
  2. Grate the parmesan using the finest part of your grater.
