Honey and Walnuts Hot Oatmeal

A complete breakfast in a single mug. I love the simplicity of this honey and walnuts hot oatmeal. It’s perfect for a gloomy day because it gives you an instant boost of energy.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups milk
  • cups oatmeal whole grain
  • 4 tbsp of honey
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 5 Jamaican pepper sweet pepper
  • ¼ cup walnuts
  • cinnamon powder
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Heat the milk over medium heat. Add the cinnamon stick and the Jamaican pepper and let it cook for a couple minutes to release the species flavor.
  • Add the oatmeal and cook for 5 minutes or until the oatmeal is soft. Sweeten with 3 tbsp of honey (or more if you feel you need it) and add a pinch of salt.
  • In a small pan, over medium heat roast the walnuts for a couple minutes. All 1 tbsp of honey to caramelize the walnuts. Cook for 5 minutes top.
  • Serve the hot oatmeal and top with the walnuts and the cinnamon powder.
