Peanut butter and banana oatmeal

This peanut butter and banana oatmeal is probably my most frequent breakfast. If I dont have the time to make something fancier, I will definitely make a big bowl of oatmeal. Healthy, quick and easy!

Cuisine: American
Keyword: oatmeal
Servings: 2 people

Ingredients

  • 1 cup oatmeal (I like to use rolled oats)
  • 2 cups milk (any type you like)
  • ½ tbsp vanilla extract
  • ½ tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tbsp peanut butter
  • 1 tsp sweetener (I use stevia)
  • Sliced almonds to sprinkle (optional)
  • Honey (optional)

Instructions

  • Heat the milk over medium heat and add the cinnamon and the vanilla extract.
  • When the milk is hot (but not boiling) add the oats and the chia seed. Stir while cooking to avoid burned oats at the bottom of you pan. Add sweetener to taste and serve when you get a creamy consistency.
  • Top with a banana cut into pieces, peanut butter, honey and almonds.
