- ½ cup unsalted butter
- 1 egg
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ cup chopped walnuts
- ¼ cup dark chocolate chips
Preheat the oven to 180ºC (350ºF)
Melt the butter in the microwave. Be careful with burning the butter. It will splash your entire microwave. Melt for 10- 20 seconds.
In a bowl, mix the melted butter, brown sugar, egg and vanilla.
In another bowl, mix the dry ingredients.
Add the dry ingredients to the batter and mix until you get a homogeneous and thick dough.
Toss the chocolate chips and the chopped walnuts. Mix well.
Cover a 9x9 baking pan with parchment paper. Pour the dough and level using a spatula. Bake for 20- 25 minutes until it forms a golden crust.
Let it cool down completely. Cut into squares.
