Easy peasy blondies with walnuts and chocolate chips. Cookie-like blondies that melt in your mouth with melty chocolate and crunchy walnuts. A Christmas dream!
I can’t even explain how sweet and lovely the smell of these beauties is. My house smelled like a vanilla cookies candle. They are super fun to make.
These little sweet bars are the perfect gift for your guests in the upcoming holidays. They are easy to wrap and very resistant. Also, they look super cute as a centerpiece in your table. The problem is that I don’t think they will last for a lot of time sitting in there. They are simply irresistible.

What are blondies?
Blondies (AKA Blond brownies) are like the little girly-girl sister of brownies. They are in essence chewy brownies without cocoa powder.
If you are a vanilla lover, blondies are your new bestie.
The dough consistency resembles my all-time favorite chewy butter cookies. It’s quite easy to make and requires every-day ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry.
What is the best pan for this recipe?
I would say a 9 x 9-inch baking pan should be good.
But, if you don’t have a baking pan with these measures, like me —I guess I need a new trip to IKEA— you can easily use a bigger tray and shape the dough.
This dough is really dense. It’s like butter cookie dough. If you shape it using a silicone spatula, it will stay in that form for all the cooking process. Don’t worry about spreading. Just make sure that you use paper parchment to avoid sticking. The parchment paper will also help you to keep the square shape.
What can you add to blond brownies?
My favorite combinations are chopped walnuts and dark chocolate chips. Crunchy and melty.
Blondies are incredibly versatile when it comes to the sweets you can add into the batter. Here are a few ideas:
- Walnuts
- M&M
- Carrot (yeap, they are delicious)
- Marshmallows
- White chocolate chips
- Dried raspberry
- Chocolate chips
- Caramel
- Peanut butter
And there are probably a million more things you can add to blond brownies to make them even more fun.
Remember to let the blondies cool completely before cutting them into squares. If they are cut while hot or warm, they will crumble.
