Course: Side Dish
Cuisine: Chinese
Keyword: salt and pepper chips
Servings: 2 people

Ingredients

  • 300 gr frozen chips (note 1)
  • 1 small red chili diced
  • 1 small green chili diced
  • 1 small onion diced
  • ½ tbsp Chinese five spices
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp canola oil

Instructions

  • Cook the frozen chips according to their packaging instruction. It can be either deep frying or oven-frying. I prefer doing my chip in the oven, just to cut the calories a little bit.
  • In a big pan heat the oil over medium heat. Toss the onion, the red and green chili, and all the spices (including the salt and the sugar). Mix well.
  • Toss the chips, coat the chips with the spices mix and serve.

Notes

  1. You can use any french fry cut that you like. I prefer to use steak potatoes.
