Black beer caramelized onions are my favorite topping for my meat hamburgers. I never need mayo or ketchup when I make this beautiful topping.
It is sweet but just in the right point. After all, the black beer helps to make the flavor deep and prevent an over sweet finish.
Also, it is so simple and goes so well with the meat. And if you add some bacon to your hamburger…well… it’s simply heaven.
Every time I mention bacon I turn into a smaller version of Homer Simpson. It just makes my day brighter.
You will only need 4 ingredients and 20 minutes to achieve these caramelized onions that will make you the queen of any barbecue party.
That’s it!
Enjoy and don’t get drunk (unless you don’t need to drive that day) 😉
- 1 cup of black beer you can drink the rest of the bottle oh yeah!
- 4 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 purple onion thinly sliced.
-
In a small pan in medium heat add the olive oil and the sliced onions.
-
When the onions are softer add the sugar and stir until it melts.
-
Add the beer and put the high heat until the onions are caramelized and the beer reduced to a glossy and tick caramel.
