Smoothies are all over the place: green, detox, with ice cream and even with avocados – I thought some of these were a crazy idea, but hey they work!.
The best way that i like to drink my smoothie is after a long —30 minutes— workout. It’s just a shot of vitamins that helps me to recover my strengths.
And my favorite one is without any doubt this strawberry banana smoothie. The key to make it thick and refreshing is to freeze the fruit. I usually don’t freeze all the fruit that I’m going to use because instead of a smoothie, it will result in something similar to an ice cream too thick to drink with a straw.
And last but not least the magic of this beverage is its super ingredient: the chia seed. This teeny tiny seed has had a lot of buzz lately. The truth is that a teaspoon of this seed every day can improve your health.
Definitely this is the right combination to bring you back from the fatigue!
This Smoothie is the perfect energy booster after a long workout.
- 15 frozen strawberry
- 1 banana
- 1/ cup of almond milk
- 100 gr unsweetened greek yogurt
- 1 tsp your preference sweetener even honey
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
-
Add all the ingredients except the chia seeds to the blender and blend in high speed.
-
When the smoothie is ready add the chia seed and stir with a spoon.
Put first the almond milk and the Greek yogurt into the blender. Adding the liquid ingredients first helps your blender have an easier job. If you use the blender to process the chia seed the latter will break and you will lose the jelly properties of the chia.
